Question:

148 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will instruct the Land Registry Office to expedite a dealing for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; and when this will be completed. [9128/02]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this application refers to an application under section 49 (ie acquisition of title by virtue of long possession) of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged on 17 November 1999. I am further informed that notices of the application were served on the next of kin of the registered owner on 20 February 2002 and if no objections are received as a result of these notices the application will receive further consideration. I can assure the Deputy that the application is receiving attention.

149 Mr. T. Hayes asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position regarding an application for title on a property purchased by a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; if it is nearing completion; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9548/02]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this is an application for transfer of part which was lodged on 2 May 2001. I am further informed that the application should be completed within the next few weeks.
