Vol. 550 No. 5

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

181 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department will review the special needs teaching hours for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin in view of their forthcoming examinations; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9612/02]

My Department has approved the allocation of nine hours per week to the school concerned to cater for the needs of the pupil referred to by the Deputy.

The authorities of the school recently applied for an increase in the allocation. The matter has been referred to the psychological service for a report and recommendation and, as soon as a response has been received and considered, the school authorities and the Deputy will be notified of the decision.
