Vol. 550 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Billy Timmins

Question:

95 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) in County Wicklow has not received REP scheme payments for the past two years; the way in which the problem can be overcome; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9642/02]

There is an issue relating to the eligibility for payment of certain lands which the person named had included in his agri-environmental plan. He has been informed directly on a number of occasions of the specific nature of the problem and how his application should be amended to address it. Essentially, the lands at issue should be shown on the plan as ineligible for payment. However, he did not provide the necessary documentation and so my Department was obliged to inform him on 6 November 2001 that his application, as presented, could not be accepted.
