Vol. 551 No. 2

Written Answers. - Airport Bus Service.

Conor Lenihan

Question:

164 Mr. C. Lenihan asked the Minister for Public Enterprise her plans to expedite the issue of a renewal licence to provide an airport bus service from Dublin south west to Dualway; the steps she proposes to take to ensure that interruptions to this service do not recur due to administrative delay in the renewal of the licence; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10342/02]

Dualway Coaches Limited sought a number of amendments to the licence held for the route from the Square in Tallaght to Dublin Airport. While my Department was considering the proposed amendments the licence fell due to be renewed. However, before a decision could be finalised on the proposed amendments and a new licence issued, the service was withdrawn by the company.

My Department has been in touch with the company on a number of occasions since then seeking certain further information in relation to the application. Once this information is received it should be possible to reach an early decision.
