236 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Health and Children the funds which have been made available to Boys' Hope, Galway, for the purchase or refurbishment of a new building in Galway; the amount of funding involved; when was it made; and the purpose of the funding. [9869/02]
My Department provided £300,000 to the Western Health Board in 2000 towards the establishment of a child care residential unit in Galway in conjunction with a voluntary body. I understand the Western Health Board allocated this grant to Boys' Hope in October 2000 towards the cost of purchasing a dwelling house and lands in Galway, to be used for the provision of services in line with the Western Health Board's strategic plan for child and family services.
