Written Answers. - General Practitioner Fees.

Pat Carey

Question:

237 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Health and Children his views on whether it is appropriate that a general practitioner should charge a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9 a fee of ?25 for stamping an application form for a driving licence in view of the fact that this licence was given free to this person; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the GMS contract general practitioners may charge their medical card holders for any certificates other than for the first and final certificates required in respect of absence from and fitness to return to work.
