Vol. 551 No. 2

Written Answers. - Health Centres.

Jack Wall

Question:

246 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children the amount of funding which has been made available from his Department towards a health centre (details supplied) in County Kildare. [9734/02]

The provision of health centres and the maintenance and upkeep of such centres, to meet the needs of local communities within its functional area, is a matter for the relevant health board or the Eastern Regional Health Authority in line with funding available under the national development plan. In the case of the health centre in Monasterevin, County Kildare, this responsibility rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority.

Accordingly, I have forwarded the request for information to the chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority and asked him to reply direct to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
