Vol. 551 No. 2

Written Answers. - Medical Aids.

Michael Noonan

Question:

247 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Health and Children if an evaluation can be made on an application made by a person (details supplied) in County Limerick, who is wheelchair bound, immobile and dependent for a ceiling track hoist; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9735/02]

The provision of technical aids and appliances to people with physical and sensory disabilities is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the health boards in the first instance. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Mid-Western Health Board, with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy, as a matter urgency.
