Vol. 551 No. 2

Written Answers. - Legal Fees.

Bernard Allen

Question:

355 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the amount paid in legal fees by his Department in 1999, 2000, 2001 and to date; to whom payment was made; and the amount of payment in each case. [10083/02]

I refer to the reply to Question No. 67 of 30 January 2002 which provides the information sought in respect of the years 1999 to 2001. In 2002, €5,028 was paid to Philip Lee Solicitors for the Department's share of the cost of legal services-advice to the Forum for the Construction Industry. Payments for legal services are also made by my Department, on behalf of the Tribunal of Inquiry into Certain Planning Matters and Payments. Payments to date in 2002 amount to €456,116.46.
