Vol. 551 No. 2

Written Answers. - Commonage Division.

Michael Ring

Question:

397 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if arrangements will be made for an inspection to investigate the de-stocking levels imposed on an area (details supplied) in County Mayo which result in only one sheep per six hectares; and if arrangements will be made to have the de-stocking levels re-examined. [10104/02]

Summary data on a townland basis have been published for completed commonage framework plans. Arrangements are in progress to publish full details of the completed plans. Farmers who consider that stocking levels prescribed by the plans are not well founded will be entitled to appeal. Details of the appeals mechanism have yet to be finalised but will be made available to all concerned as soon as they are available.
