Vol. 551 No. 2

Written Answers. - Undergraduate Medical Education.

Bernard Allen

Question:

522 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received proposals for a major revamp of undergraduate medical education; if so, the decisions he proposes to take on these proposals; and if there will be an input from the health service sector into curriculum planning. [10043/02]

I have not received any proposals for a major revamp of undergraduate medical education but I understand the Medical Council undertook a review of each of the medical schools late last year. A public report based on the review will be issued in the near future.
