Vol. 551 No. 3

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

193 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his views on the concerns of the Cheekpoint and Faithlegg Community Association, County Waterford relating to the proposed new Cheekpoint sewerage scheme (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10509/02]

I have approved Waterford County Council's preliminary report for this scheme and it is now a matter for the council to submit contract documents to my Department for approval.

No direct communication from the organisation referred to has been received by my Department. As the planning and development of individual water services schemes is the responsibility of the relevant local authority, any concerns in this case may appropriately be raised with Waterford County Council.
