Dáil Éireann debate -
Thursday, 28 Mar 2002

Vol. 551 No. 4

International Criminal Court: Motion.

I move:

That Dail Éireann approves the terms of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, done at Rome on the 17th day of July, 1998, which was laid before Dáil Éireann on 22nd March, 2002.

I register my disapproval of the fact that we do not have an opportunity to debate this matter. My colleagues, Deputies Michael D. Higgins and Jim O'Keeffe have made compelling arguments for allowing some debate and I am sorry time has not been allocated for that. However, I do not oppose the motion.

Question put and agreed to.
