Question:

139 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding a proposal by the North-Eastern Health Board (details supplied); the level of funding to be provided for this project; if this funding will be made available under the national development plan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10757/02]

Responsibility for the provision of ambulance services in the Cavan, Monaghan, Meath and Louth areas is the responsibility of the North-Eastern Health Board. Therefore, my Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
