Vol. 551 No. 4

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Billy Timmins

Question:

193 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position regarding making Greystones Garda station, Greystones, County Wicklow wheelchair accessible; when the necessary work will be carried out; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10746/02]

I understand that the Office of Public Works has a programme in place to provide disabled access to all public buildings, including Garda stations, on a phased basis. In this regard I have been informed by the Garda authorities that the gardaí in Greystones have been requested to obtain estimates for the required work which will be forwarded to the Office of Public Works for inclusion in the above programme. The Deputy will appreciate that it is not possible at this point to indicate when the works at Greystones Garda station will commence.
