Tony Gregory

Question:

246 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education and Science the recommendations of the report of the task force on dyslexia; when these recommendations will be implemented; if this matter will be given priority; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10837/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 232 and 246 together.

The task force on dyslexia has completed its work and presented its report to my Department in November 2001. Copies of the report can be accessed on my Department's web site and printed copies are now available from the Government Publications Office. I have asked my officials to forward a copy of the report to both Deputies.

The report of the task force, which deals with a wide range of complex issues and contains a total of 61 recommendations, is now being considered in my Department. The matters of implementation, resources and timing will be decided once consideration is complete.
