124 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Defence the total cost of the provision of uniforms to members of the Defence Forces for 2001; the number of personnel who qualify for uniforms; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12046/02]

Minister for Defence (Mr. M. Smith): The total cost of the provision of uniforms to members of the Defence Forces in 2001 amounted to €5,292,325. All serving members of the Defence Forces qualify for uniforms.
