Vol. 552 No. 1

Written Answers. - Flood Relief.

Willie Penrose

Question:

248 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Finance if his Department will take steps to ensure that a drain which comes down from an area into lands in the ownership of a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath is drained; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11513/02]

The drain in question forms part of the Inny catchment drainage scheme for which the Commissioners of Public Works have a maintenance responsibility under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945. Maintenance works are scheduled to be carried out by the Office of Public Works on this drain during June 2002.
