Vol. 552 No. 1

Written Answers. - Health Service Funding.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

291 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will ensure that an adequate budget is made available for service provision by an organisation (details supplied) in Dublin 8; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11150/02]

Responsibility for the provision of funding for organisations providing services for people with an intellectual disability and those with autism in the Dublin region rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly. However, I understand that the authority is in ongoing discussions with the organisation in regard to its 2002 budget.
