Vol. 552 No. 1

Written Answers. - General Practitioner Fees.

Billy Timmins

Question:

344 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding doctors fees; if there is a set charge; if there are guidelines for general practitioner fees for consultations; if there is a difference in charge for adults and children; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11506/02]

I presume the Deputy is referring to consultation fees charged by general practitioners. Since such fees are a matter of private contract between the two parties, they are not subject to regulation by my Department.
