Vol. 552 No. 1

Written Answers. - FÁS Scheme.

Willie Penrose

Question:

355 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children if funding will be put in place through his offices for the reinstatement of a FÁS scheme for a clerical assistant and respite care worker (details supplied); if they will be re-employed to provide this necessary service or the funding put in place to permit the carer's resource centre to re-engage them in their former positions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11556/02]

Responsibility for consideration of the provision of funding in this case rests with the Midland Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly. The Deputy may wish to note that responsibility for FÁS schemes rests with my colleague the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
