Vol. 552 No. 1

Written Answers. - National Library.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

517 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands when it is proposed to invite a person (details supplied) to make a formal offer of ?190,460 worth of rare books on the histories of the Burke families and the Wild Geese for the proposed library at Portumna Castle, County Galway. [11794/02]

As the Deputy will be aware from my response to Question No. 202 of 27 March, my Department has no plans to provide a library space at Portumna Castle. My Department has, however, brought the possible availability of the collection of books on the histories of the Burke families and the Wild Geese to the attention of the National Library.
