790 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Education and Science the status of an application for recognition of teaching qualifications obtained abroad by a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11789/02]
I can confirm that the person referred to by the Deputy has lodged an application for recognition as a primary teacher with the primary administration section of the Department in Athlone.
Unfortunately, the documentation supplied to date does not contain sufficient information to allow the Department to make a decision on this application. A departmental official has recently spoken to the person referred to by the Deputy and requested further information. On receipt of this information this matter will be further considered.
