63 Mr. Ring asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she will consider setting up a scheme to allow unemployed people to gain a safe pass course qualification for the construction industry, free of charge; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11168/02]

I have been informed by FÁS that it has been decided to make safe pass training available, free of charge, on a stand-alone basis to unemployed people with the intention of working in the construction sector, where the demand exists.
