Vol. 552 No. 2

Written Answers. - Institutes of Technology.

Michael Creed

Question:

134 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will make a statement on the MIS project for payroll software for the institute of technology sector funded by his Department; the reason the project team has stipulated that the system must run a piece of software (details supplied); the cost of the project to date; and the reason the existing provider of payroll software has been excluded from this process. [12119/02]

The MIS project is a joint project of the institutes of technology. The contracting authority for the project is the Dublin Institute of Technology. I understand that a procurement process for payroll software is currently in train but that a contract has not yet been awarded. In the circumstances it would not be appropriate for me to comment on this matter. Any issues regarding the tendering process should be raised directly with the contracting authority.
