I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Durkan – the serious consequences for children and young adults attending St. Raphaels, Celbridge, County Kildare, and similar institutions arising from recent financial cutbacks; (2) Deputy Jim Higgins – the forced closure of Aghamore national school, Ballyhaunis, County Mayo, because of rat infestation; (3) Deputy Connaughton – the funding for the initial stages of the new community hospital in Tuam, County Galway; (4) Deputy Johnny Brady – the loss of 50 jobs in Complex Tooling and Moulding Limited which will cease operations at its Kells facility at the end of June; (5) Deputy Seán Ryan – the recent allocation of grants under the capital investment scheme for the marketing and promotion of certain agricultural products, such as potatoes; and (6) Deputy Crawford – the urgent need to take immediate steps to end the close-down of services in Monaghan General Hospital – in the past few months the gynaecological ward has been removed and the children's ward as well as the maternity ward closed which means that all mothers and mothers to be have to travel long journeys on poor quality roads.

The matters raised by Deputies Jim Higgins, Seán Ryan, Durkan and Connaughton have been selected for discussion.
