Vol. 552 No. 3

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Johnny Brady – the loss of 50 jobs in Complex Tooling and Moulding limited which will cease operations at its Kells facility at the end of June; (2) Deputy Crawford – the urgent need to take immediate steps to end the closedown of services in Monaghan General Hospital – in the last few months the gynaecological ward has been removed and the children's ward has been closed along with the maternity ward, which means that all mothers and mothers-to-be have to travel long journeys on poor quality roads; (3) Deputy Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny)– the delay in building the ten bed extension to Carlow District Hospital; (4) Deputy Sargent – the need to explain the failure to provide wildlife rangers in many counties including County Dublin, where the situation has never been worse in terms of wildlife protection and the need to resolve this; and (5) Deputy O'Hanlon – the future development of Monaghan Hospital.

The matters raised by Deputies Johnny Brady, Crawford, O'Hanlon and Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) have been selected for discussion.
