Vol. 552 No. 3

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Donal Carey

Question:

144 Mr. D. Carey asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he has received an application for funding under the water and sewerage services investment programme 2000-2002 from Clare County Council in respect of Scariff, Feakle, Quilty and Mullagh sewerage schemes; and when these schemes can proceed to contract. [12375/02]

The Feakle sewerage scheme has been approved for funding under the rural towns and villages initiative and the Scariff and Quilty, which includes Mullagh, schemes have been included in my Department's water services investment programme 2002-2004, to commence construction in 2003. The three schemes are being advanced as a grouped DBO project and, earlier this month, I approved Clare County Council's proposals to appoint consultants to prepare contract documents for the collection systems and a client's representative to produce tender documents for the treatment works.
