Question:

207 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Education and Science if an application has been received in his Department for improved accommodation at the Commons national school, Killybegs; the position regarding the application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12462/02]

An application for additional accommodation and refurbishment in respect of the school referred to by the Deputy is being examined by the planning section of my Department. As part of this examination, factors such as current and projected enrolments, housing developments and staffing levels are being considered. As soon as this examination is complete, a decision will be made on how best to meet the school's long-term accommodation requirements and the school authorities will be notified accordingly.

208 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education and Science if indoor playing facilities will be provided in the school being erected in Ring, County Waterford, on behalf of County Waterford VEC; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12463/02]

The building unit of my Department has received an application for a PE Hall at Meánscoil San Nioclás, Ring, from County Waterford VEC. This application will be considered in light of available resources and other priorities currently presenting.
