Vol. 552 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Catering Facility.

Seán Ryan

Question:

115 Mr. S. Ryan asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the delay in providing a permanent catering facility at St. Ita's hospital, Portrane, County Dublin; the reason for the delay in applying for planning permission for the new building; if there is a commitment for the project; his views on the fact that up to 2000 meals per day are provided in pre-fabricated accommodation, which is causing industrial relations unrest; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12788/02]

Responsibility for the provision of this service rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
