Vol. 552 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tax Rebates.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

86 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in having a refund of income tax and PRSI contributions paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork as all the necessary documentation and details were submitted to the Revenue Commissioners on 10 January 2002. [12712/02]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that a member of Revenue staff has been in contact with the taxpayer who confirmed that he has not made an application for a refund of either PAYE or PRSI since he received a PAYE refund of £660.23 (€838.32) on 11 December 2001.

However, I understand the taxpayer feels he may be due a further refund of PAYE and that he may also be due a refund of PRSI. He has been advised how to proceed in the matter. In relation to PAYE, his claim will be dealt with by his inspector of taxes. His claim for a refund of PRSI should be sent to the customer services section, Office of the Collector-General, Sarsfield House, Limerick – telephone 1890 20 30 70.

Question:

87 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Finance when a VAT refund will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [12713/02]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that they received a claim for a refund of VAT from the person in question some time ago. However, as the claim was incomplete, it was returned. The Commissioners understand that the claim will shortly be resubmitted. On receipt, it will be processed as quickly as possible.
