Vol. 553 No. 4

Written Answers. - Food Safety Standards.

Liz McManus

Question:

22 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he has received the results of tests on samples of butter and cream taken before the removal of carbosan copper from cattle rations for analysis for levels of dioxin; and the results of these samples. [13977/02]

Samples of butter and cream, produced before the removal of carbosan copper from cattle rations, were taken for analysis for levels of dioxin. The butter samples were taken by my Department and the cream samples by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland. The analysis of those samples has been completed and the results in all cases were well within the limits set down in EU legislation.
