Vol. 553 No. 7

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Willie Penrose

Question:

220 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children if an appointment can be arranged for a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath at Beaumont Hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15216/02]

Responsibility for the provision of hospital services to residents of County Westmeath rests with the Midland Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

221 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Health and Children the reasons for the long delay in a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9 seeing a specialist in Temple Street; if an earlier appointment date than September 2002 can be offered to this person in view of their condition; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15234/02]

Responsibility for the provision of hospital services to residents of Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
