Vol. 553 No. 7

Written Answers. - Strategy Statement.

John Bruton

Question:

262 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he has reviewed the Strategy Statement for his Department for 2001-2004 prepared for the previous Government; and if he proposes to make alterations to it in view of his own personal priorities or the contents of the new Programme for Government. [15291/02]

I can inform the Deputy that, under the provisions of the Public Service Management Act, 1997, my Department is required to prepare and submit a new Strategy Statement to me within six months of my appointment. This will be done later this year and the existing Strategy Statement will be reviewed in that context. The document will take into account the contents of An Agreed Programme for Government, including my priorities as Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform.
