Vol. 553 No. 7

Written Answers. - Departmental Expenditure.

Richard Bruton

Question:

271 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the way in which spending in the first six months of 2002 compares to the budgeted profile for spending for each major programme of his Department's spending; and his forecast for year-end overruns. [15114/02]

John Bruton

Question:

280 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the 2002 Estimates of public capital spending by his Department; if the net expenditure under headings is likely on present trends to be exceeded; and if so, the amount by which in each case. [15294/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 271 and 280 together.

Expenditure to mid-year on my Department's major programmes, excluding programmes transferred out of the Department in the context of recent changes of functions, is running generally as expected. It is not anticipated, at this stage, that expenditure on major programmes will materially exceed the 2002 Estimate provisions.

The publication Public Capital Programme 2002 contains details of PCP provisions for all Departments.
