300 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the steps she has taken to encourage members of staff in her Department to cycle to work; if her Department provides showering facilities; if her Department will supply cycle helmets to ensure safe cycling; and if she will make a statement on the matter. My Department facilitates the use of bicycles for travel to work by providing parking facilities for bicycles at all its main offices. In addition, in all new and refurbished buildings, it is my Department's policy to provide shower facilities for staff. In the case of other buildings, shower facilities are provided where feasible and practicable.
There are no proposals under consideration to supply cycle helmets to staff.
