Vol. 553 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

96 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when extensification payments will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15127/02]

Under EU regulations, extensification premium may only issue to a herdowner who in the first instance has qualified for payment of suckler cow and-or special beef premium and where the stocking density of the holding for extensification premium purposes is within certain limits. The person named did not apply for either suckler cow or special beef premium in 2001 and for this reason he is not eligible for payment of any extensification premium in 2001.
