Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - Departmental Expenditure.

Bernard Allen

Question:

497 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the way in which spending in the first nine months of 2002 compares to the budgeted profile for spending for each major programme of his Department's spending; and his forecast for year-end overruns. [17164/02]

Most of the expenditure under my Department's Vote 38 relates to administrative costs. There are no major programmes funded under this Vote. Overall spending to date remains within profile and no overrun is anticipated.

Total expenditure to the end of September on the Government's development aid programme under Vote 39 amounted to €229 million compared to a profile figure of €261 million. Expenditure trends are being monitored closely and I expect the full annual allocation to be spent.
