Question:

305 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of affordable houses built and occupied in each local authority area since the initiation of the affordable housing programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17697/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 226 and 305 together.

Information on the number of houses sold under the affordable housing scheme is published in my Department's housing statistic bulletins, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library.

Question:

227 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his proposals for the establishment of a funding scheme for social and voluntary housing projects which deliver services to people with special needs; when a decision will be taken on this matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17607/02]

My Department is considering, in consultation with the Departments of Health and Children and Finance, the issues which would be involved in any scheme to assist housing associations to provide care and support services in voluntary housing projects where there is a need for such services. At this stage, however, I am not in a position to indicate when such a scheme might be introduced.
