Vol. 555 No. 1

Written Answers. - Taxi Regulations.

Bernard Allen

Question:

134 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Transport the concessions which will be made by his Department regarding wheelchair accessible taxis. [17706/02]

The existing public service vehicle regulations provide that the fee for the grant of a wheelchair accessible taxi licence is fixed at €125. This compares with a fee of €6,300 that is set for ordinary taxi licences. There are no current proposals to provide further concessions in relation to wheelchair accessible taxi licences.
