Vol. 555 No. 2

Adjournment Debate. - Housing Aid for the Elderly.

John McGuinness

Question:

291 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will investigate the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who applied for assistance under the housing aid for the elderly scheme, to determine if the cost of the work undertaken by the applicant will be met in 2002 by the South-Eastern Health Board; if the commitment given to the Minister of State by the South-Eastern Health Board that environmental health staff would visit this person to determine his immediate needs has been honoured; if so, if the report is available; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18084/02]

Responsibility for the administration of the special housing aid scheme for the elderly in Kilkenny rests with the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply direct to him.
