Adjournment Debate. - Hospital Services.

John McGuinness

Question:

294 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if he or the South-Eastern Health Board will respond to written requests from the family of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny for an investigation into the treatment of their mother when admitted to Waterford Regional Hospital on 25 July 2001, 6 September 2001 and 18 October 2001; if the report will detail the reason the person was misdiagnosed and the role of two persons (details supplied) in the matter; if he will comment on the role of one of the persons in the case and explain his background and current employment status and location; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18087/02]

The provision of services in the case of the person named from County Kilkenny is the responsibility of the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply directly to the Deputy.
