Emmet Stagg

Question:

203 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Education and Science the extent of the required extension to Scoil Mhuire Secondary School, Clane, County Kildare, for which funding is being sought; and when approval for same will issue. [18985/02]

My Department has recently received a request for additional works at Scoil Mhuire Secondary School, Clane, County Kildare. An application form for capital funding has been forwarded to the school authority. This will enable us to assess comprehensively the school's needs. The completed application has not yet been returned to the Department.

When this application is received it will be considered within the Department in light of existing commitments and the capital allocation for 2003.

Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the urgent need to replace the prefabs at Scoil Chaitríona in Dublin 5; if preparatory work has been done within his Department in order to facilitate the early commencement of building work to replace these prefabs; and his estimated date for the commencement of building on this site. [19003/02]

My Department has no record of an application for any works to be carried out at Scoil Chaitríona, Dublin 5.
