Question:246 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the position regarding funding allocated to a pier (details supplied) in County Mayo; and if the money was spent. [18906/02]

The pier in question is owned by Mayo County Council and responsibility for its repair and maintenance rests with the local authority in the first instance. My Department has not, to date, received any proposals from Mayo County Council in relation to this pier.
