Question:359 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of community gardaí in the Limerick Garda division; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19172/02]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities that all gardaí have a responsibility, inter alia, to deal with community policing matters as they arise, but that there are currently 18 specific community gardaí, all ranks, in the Limerick Garda division.
