Vol. 555 No. 5

Written Answers. - Government Publications.

Finian McGrath

Question:

417 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs if there is a Government publication which gives all the necessary names and contact numbers for groups and individuals to access grants and financial assistance to facilitate business and community organisations. [18905/02]

The funding available to voluntary and community organisations comes from a variety of sources, mostly from the statutory sector comprising Departments, health boards, local authorities and other public bodies. Comhairle, the national information agency, which comes under the aegis of my Department, displays information on funding sources on its website – www.comhairle.ie – as part of its resource database for the community and voluntary sector. In addition, Comhairle funds the publication of a booklet entitled The Irish Funding Handbook which is available from CAFE, 143 Townsend Street, Dublin 2. An electronic version of that booklet is also available on the website referred to above. Information in relation to funding sources available to business organisations does not come within the remit of my Department.
