125 Mr. Hogan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she approved the announcement of major investment for Elan Corporation in Macroom, County Cork, on 18 April 2002; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [18843/02]
The announcement of a major investment by Elan Corporation in Macroom, County Cork, did not require my approval. I was, however, aware, through the normal processes, that Elan had purchased the facility. I was informed by the Taoiseach's office that the Taoiseach had accepted an invitation from the company to announce the project in Cork.
