Question:152 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason an area based payment has not issued to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18910/02]

The person named qualified for a payment of €3,731.18 under the 2002 area-based compensatory allowance scheme. However, a recoupment of €534.87 was outstanding under the rural environmental protection scheme and, accordingly, that amount was withheld. A net payment of €3,196.31 issued to him on 16 October 2002.
