Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Coveney – the actions which need to be taken to secure free to view television coverage of Irish soccer internationals and Irish rugby internationals played at home; (2) Deputy Neville – the construction of a new school at St. Nicholas primary school, Adare; (3) Deputy Batt O'Keeffe – that special consideration be given by the Minister for Education and Science to this year's classical studies results in the leaving certificate and to ask if he proposes to carry out an inquiry into the disparity in the marking system from last year to this year; (4) Deputy Burton – the proposals within CIE to make substantial cuts in the rail freight service in the south east; (5) Deputy Finian McGrath – Dublin Bay and the proposed 52 acre infill by the port company; (6) Deputy Deasy – that the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform requests a criminal investigation into recent allegations of clerical sex abuse as reported in the "Prime Time" programme on Thursday, 17 October 2002; (7) Deputy Healy – the urgent need for decentralisation of Departments generally and south Tipperary in particular; (8) Deputy Timmins – to request the Minister for Agriculture and Food to act as a facilitator in the dispute between the IFA and the meat factories.

The matters raised by Deputies Healy, Batt O'Keefe and Burton have been selected for discussion.
