Vol. 555 No. 5

Written Answers. - Tax Reliefs.

Finian McGrath

Question:

176 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Finance if he will review the current tax breaks for wealthy artists in Ireland; and if he will work towards tax equity. [18891/02]

All tax reliefs are kept under regular review and in the run-up to each budget. As the Deputy knows, this relief is of long-standing and applies to the income, no matter how big or small, that eligible writers, composers and artists earn from their creative output.
